The Board of Directors of Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) is seeking candidates for positions on the board of directors for the upcoming year.
The CEC seeks to put forward and develop a Board with a diverse skill set and a broad range of experiences in various areas and professional sectors. Successful applicants will have a range of skills and experiences which may cover areas like not-for-profit organizations, provincial or national sports organizations, finance, legal, accounting, other directorships, corporate governance, marketing, fund-raising and information technology.
For the 2021 – 2022 year, CEC is particularly interested in finding directors with experience in accounting (ideally CPA), fund raising and external communications. We are also seeking diverse candidates, in particular gender and self-identified diversity (e.g., racial, 2SLGBTQIA+, disability).
The CEC Board has struck a Nominations Committee which will be reviewing the applications and making recommendations to the Board. The Board will put forward the names of recommended director nominees to the CEC’s voting Members (the Alpine Club of Canada, Sport Climbing BC, Alberta Climbing Association, Ontario Climbing Federation and the FQME). The CEC’s voting Members will elect individuals to the CEC Board at the CEC’s Annual General Meeting which will take place in May at a time to be announced. The meeting will be held virtually.
